“Interlocking is good for maintaining roots when palm rolling unravels too soon”
DIDJA KNOW that you can take breaks between interlocking and get roots palm rolled sometimes for sensitive scalps?
What is Interlock Maintenance?
Interlocking is a maintenance technique in which the end of the loc is pulled through the root to tighten the new growth to the scalp. This technique can be achieved with a tool or with fingers; and it is commonly used in the Sisterlocks™ and micro locs hair locking systems.
Your Locs should be interlocked every 2 months on average, less or more depending on your growth rate; interlocked in a manner that prolongs the style without being too tight. If Palm Roll Retwist last only a week on your hair, you may want to consider Interlocking which lasts up to 2 months as a retwist method. Professional washing can be done during this period and is recommended. Also, light repairs such as those on thinning hair or broken off locs can be performed along with the retwist.
Who is it for?
For all hair textures. Interlocking is a technique that can be used to start and maintain any texture of hair because it prevents the hair from unraveling and encourages the hair to stay in place to begin the locking process.
Why get it?
If your hair is hard to loc, silky, straight, fine or a texture where your hair constantly unravel with coils or standard starter locs, then this may be an option.
