Instant Locs
It is recommended for young active children(under 7 years old) to get instant locs installed instead of the traditional starter locs. Instant locs are much easier  to maintain on a child. Starter locs cannot get wet while indyant locs can. Children sweat, play in the dirt  and fail to put there starters in a cap before taking a nap making instant locs the way to go. Children over 8 are usually responsible enough to be conscious of their loc care.

Starter Locs

Children’s Starter Locs under 5 yrs old should be installed using their own hair and with Aloe Gel to avoid harsh chemicals on young follicles.

Retwists

Retwists are done based on how the child’s locs were started. We do not recommend interlocking for most due to the bumpy rough form it can create in some hair textures. Even though some may still need it, interlocking must be done correctly to loc without holes and frayed ends.

Repair

Repairing is not always necessary in the child’s hair growth is retwists are done periodically. Normally within a 3 to 6 week period due to the level of activity and perspiration the child may experience.

Styling

If the strength of the child’s hair is good, styling can be beneficial in the growth process.

Shampoo Services

If there is build up in the child’s hair, it is because too much product is used, this is why we recommend using aloe vera gel if that is the case.

After Service Maintenance

When a child receives loc services, if it is feasible, they should ALWAYS wear a silk scarf at night, but sometimes due to their high activity, their newly started or retwisted locs can unravel. It is advised to use caution also, when repairing childrens locs and adding extensions since they are at a greater risk for needing additional repairs due to the extension or loc being pulled out.
